Urban Terror HD has started public alpha "testing". I honestly doubt the team will get much out of this since they seem to use the public release as safety test instead. Currently the character models are placeholders or the team has done crap work with them. The new colt is too slow to fire and is held oddly high. The P90 kicks ass but not sure how it compares, xept it has a lot of bullets. Benneli is claimed to be over powered but people just don't seem to understand how easy it is to kill with the old guns if you would bother to aim. I LOVE FLASH BANGS. Only thing I dislike is that the flash effect is gray. Some issues with player characters being invisible with some video cards so you have to mess with console commands. Also default key bindings suck ass so be ready to do some major copy pasting in notepad.

If you haven't heard yet, the Humble Indie Bundle 2 is out. Got my copy yesterday. I think this kind of business is something that make lot more money than people expect but at same time it lets you pay what you think the bundle is worth. There is also game called Link-Dead that I bought, It uses similar means of selling it self (although it does have 1$ minimum). I have to admit that even though it's still alpha, It's one of the best games I have on my computer. It requires quite a lot from computer even though It's only 2d game (post-effects, etc.). My computer runs at about 133 fps (probably capped) and with maximum amount of smoke nades on screen the fps drops to 31. Game is about two sides fighting for what ever reason. One side is mutants. They are rebel kinda people with not so efficient guns but have customizable grenades and ability to cloak. The second side is Ubermen who seem to have quite improved tech and the guns can be customized to suit your fancy.

With regards to the monthly (turned yearly) gathering, we have began discussing when we can actually proceed with the event. As the dates are becoming closer, I'd request those that have not voted on favoured weekends to do so. I've estimated the current number of voters to be 3 and I wish to receive more before setting dates.

Tim also asks something about McNuggets(tm).

 

Generating Index

I worked on script this morning. Right now it generates links to all files in the autodownload folder of the server. Next need to work on some sort of tool tip script that could give info when mouse is rolled over and possibly a screen shot of the map. I might make the listing bit more graphical. But ye, people should be able to find the files now. Also I am getting bit better with the php now just need to figure out better way to use include with strings to generate the divs from external files. But for now. Enjoy.

Team Speak and Game Server

So servers are up and going. You can connect game server with /connect urt.cebt-tribe.com:2796 and the team speak 3 server  from ts3.cebt-tribe.com:9196 and of course password for team speak server is cebt2006 and admin rights are given as soon as you come around (for those who should have them). Rcon password is the usual.

Anyone who has been around week (7 days)  or more is allowed to use the tag (Cebt) and is responsible for their own actions. If you cheat or are fucking annoying you will be warned/kicked/banned. Cheaters are perm banned. No forgiveness for cheaters. If you are anoying you will mostlikely be muted but talking shit is ok. But stay civil Everyone is welcome to team speak and the server. We have 50 slots on team speak and 16 on game servers.

Also I will remove all member entries that do not send me avatar and text. If you want to the list send me those. (existing ones remain of course.)

Well it's friday again. I am sad to inform you guys but vent and UrT server will go down for few days (monday-wensday) because I forgot to send money to paypal early enough. There is clan pay feature if you happen to have paypal but I am not sure does it allow you to pay only single thing (ventrilo is only few dollars). It should be up until 11th of this month so no worries on the weekend. Now that the serious matter is out of hand I would like to inform the rest of the clan what I've been up to...

I finally got most of the essential stuff installed and soon I'll try to instal that radiant and write bit of tutorial how to set it up on windows 7. I remember it being hastle on first time at my xp computer. The second time I installed it I just made sure I had copy of defenition file in as many places as possible. Update for website is bit slow because I am not sure how to go about with the files. I really want to set up that file upload thing but I want to do it properly. Main thing would be getting the file listing dynamic. On other news (get used to click the comment to see the rest. I won't promt next time :D)

So here is our new site and it's in decent shape. The new webservices are really worth it and hopefully I get the other features I've planed (expand to read more about my ideas.). Also I'll soon will be testing the domain features and such wich will be awsome. So I will be probly blogging about mapping and other wierd shit I keep doing on my computer that you have no idea about. But ye.. First thing is probly the mapping tutorial I've been planing. Starting all the way from setting up the GTKRadiant 1.5 and making a cube (the legendary "hello world" tutorial we love. Oh and if someone wants to get the news access please contact me... as I've said I won't be organizing gatherings so if someone wants to make news post about such even they need account. So ye.
